Cheap mid-range cars worth your attention

Several thousand zlotys may be enough for us to buy a good middle class car. However, we have to choose the right model, check carefully the specific vehicle and decide on the simplest petrol engines. Which cars should therefore attract our attention?

1. Renault Lagoon II - 2001-2007 production years

Renault Laguna II with a two-litre petrol engine, produced after 2005, can be a really good choice. The post-lift version is defect-free and the F4R petrol is one of the best units. We can also decide to buy a model with a gas installation, or a turbo version, but rather forget about the IDE version. The Lagoon's advantages include the chassis, a pleasant interior, cheap and accessible spare parts for the suspension, and a body that does not rust excessively.

2. Ford Mondeo II (Mk3) - production years 2000-2007

End-of-generation vehicles equipped with a two-litre petrol engine are worth recommending. The Ford Mondeo has a spacious interior, a good body and the car engine was developed by Mazda. In the case of this vehicle, beware of high oil combustion and damaged air control dampers in the collectors.

3. Peugeot 407 - production years 2004-2011

Peugeot 407 above all looks nice, has interesting equipment, a wide cockpit and a two-litre EW series engine, which is durable and cheap to repair.

4. Mazda 6 I - years of production 2002-2008

Vehicles after the lifting in 2005 are a bit better choice, because they have gained a more powerful two-litre petrol engine. The Mazda 6 has a durable timing chain, but due to the often high mileage, the risk of ring wear and excessive oil combustion increases.

5. Citroen C5 I - production years 2001-2008

In the case of the Citroen C5 it is also worth betting on polifting units without defects and with engine 2.0. This car requires replacement of the timing belt after 120 thousand km, is cheap to operate, has a good suspension, does not corrode and we do not have to worry about problems with hydropneumatics.

6. BMW 3 Series E46 - years of manufacture 1998-2007

Nice looking car with excellent driving characteristics, for which there is still a great demand. The 2.0 R4 engine is a great design, but for the R6 varieties the larger ones are better: 2.5 or 3.0. The 2.0 R4 engine enables fuel savings with good dynamics. In 2003, the N42 series was replaced by a newer one, N46. The problem may be the failure of the chain tensioner.

7. Audi A4 B6 - production years 2000-2004

Before buying an older Audi model

The condition and course of the device should be carefully checked. The 2.0 engine is less frequent than the 1.8 turbo. Their common feature is a 20-valve head (5 valves per cylinder). The A4 B6 2.0 serves many drivers, but it can expose us to expenses, as the engine can burn oil in large quantities and the possible repair of the Multitronic stepless transmission is very expensive.

8. Class C II Mercedes - years of production 2000-2007

An extremely comfortable car that drives well. It is equipped with a 2.0 engine, which is a very simple unit, but at the same time highly valued. It is durable and dynamic, but also absorbs a lot of fuel.

9 Volkswagen Passat B5 - production years 1996-2005

Extremely popular car on the aftermarket. The vehicles after the lifting in 2000 have a good suspension, a flexible body and it is easy to get spare parts to them. Most of the available copies, however, require a lot of money.

Honda Accord VI - years of production 1998-2002

Honda can be a very rational choice, provided that we carefully check the selected specimen for corrosion or simply wear.

It is best to bet on the engine 2.0.
