Tips and advice

What to do if the paint on the car is damaged?

No matter how carefully we take care of our car, at least once in a while we have to deal with damage to the paint. They must not be neglected, as they have a serious impact on the appearance of the car and the risk of corrosion. Fortunately, if the damage is not large, we don't have to seek the support of a painter to get rid of it.

Remove scratches by yourself

Shallow scratches are usually removed by hand, although we must not forget that this goal can only be achieved if we obtain a suitable polishing paste. There are many such solutions on the market, but it is not recommended to save on them. The cheapest products are characterized by the fact that they leave small scratches, and these seemingly minor damages can destroy all our efforts. The surface prepared for polishing should be free from dirt, while the application of the paste itself must be carried out with the use of the applicator. In this case our patience is usually rewarded, because the paste should be applied in slow, circular movements, so that we can be sure that it is distributed exactly.

Removing body scratches

We mask the splinters of varnish

Of course, we do not need to put so much effort into this activity, as the alternative solution turns out to be a mechanical polisher. It is worth investing in it, if only because it is not an excessively expensive solution. If we have problems with paint splinters, we have to buy a so-called mortar paint, matched to the color of the car. Even before its application it is worth not only cleaning, but also degrease the place that has been damaged. A drop of paint can be applied with a brush or toothpick. Of course, it can happen anyway, that although the chipping is small in size, it reaches deep. If it touches the car's plate, the primer application is the first to be applied. This is particularly important because it can effectively remove the rust that drivers are so often afraid of. You can also mask more extensive abrasions yourself, although in this case the best solution is spray lacquer.
