However, it will be difficult to keep them in good condition as they are particularly vulnerable to adverse factors. How will it be possible to prepare them for the winter period?

In winter, alufels are exposed to all kinds of contamination, including brake pad dust, tyre deposits, sand, tar, salt. That's why regular cleaning is so important. Any chemicals that are used on roads in winter can cause damage to the rims. So how to start preparing alluffle wheels for winter?

First of all - washing

In connection with these pollutants, which we have already pointed out, it will be necessary to wash this element on a regular basis. However, before you start this activity you need to check if they are cold. Washing such elements when they are hot can cause deformations. Pouring hot brake discs will lead to their destruction and you should therefore be careful, as the braking will be worse. Water will also dry quickly at high temperatures, so unsightly stains will appear on the rims.

Pressure washers are not recommended for cleaning aluminium rims, as high pressure may cause splinters on the paint. If you want to use such a washer you will need to be able to keep about 10 cm distance. Brushes or other cleaning materials will not be suitable either, because they scratch the paint. It is best to use sponges or soft cloths.

When washing a car in an automatic car wash, we pay attention to the cleaning agents used there to remove dried dirt. Often these are acid-based preparations, which perform perfectly.

If the rims are to maintain the right shine and a great appearance during washing, you have to choose a good cleaning agent. On the market we can find special preparations prepared for rims care and it is worth deciding on them. You shouldn't use any other detergents, because you can even lose your warranty on the paint coating.

Waxing

Once the rims are clean enough, you will also be able to start securing them and here waxing will work perfectly well. Wax protects against dirt and has a positive effect on the appearance. It is worth periodically applying wax to the car and rims.
