What does auto detailing look like in practice?

Auto detailing service is very often defined as thorough car cleaning, washing of upholstery and varnish polishing. However, one cannot omit these definitions, which compare auto detailing with what a visit to a SPA salon is for a human being. The latter version may, moreover, be considered more accurate, although, in this case too, we may find voices saying that even this term is not excessively precise.

Auto detailing step by step

Auto detailing is not only a precise process, but also a process that is extended in time. It consists in bringing the vehicle as close to the factory condition as possible. Talking about vehicles is not a coincidence, because although we usually associate it with a car, nothing stands in the way of detailing a motorcycle, a quad or even an airplane. It cannot therefore be argued that thorough cleaning is at the heart of this service. This is a series of actions, as a result of which the car should look like a new one, and thus like a dream of every driver without exception.

What do we start with?

The first step always turns out to be a visual inspection of the car and it cannot be denied that they are extremely meticulous. All proposed actions are always consulted with the customer and only after its acceptance can you proceed to the proper actions related to bringing the car to the ideal state.

Washing

It is difficult to act effectively if the car is dirty, so the first concrete action is always to clean the vehicle thoroughly. The elements that could be destroyed are dismantled earlier and this makes us aware of the care that is required for the cleaning process. Usually not only a special glove but also a pressure washer is used during its duration. At this stage, not only all deposits in the paint surface are removed, but also volatile rust, resin, rubber and brake pads deposits. Washing and cleaning applies to the whole vehicle, including the doorway and the fuel filler and engine compartment, i.e. those components that are sometimes bypassed even by extremely careful drivers.

Removal of dirt invisible to the eye

However, not every dirt is visible to the eye, and it can be particularly difficult to remove the latter. However, this is not an impossible task, as a special clay comes in handy, which can even deal with dirt hidden deep in the pores of the paint. In this way, the paint becomes glassy smooth and such a condition is necessary in order to proceed first to its correction and then also to its protection.

Correction and protection of paint

First, the thickness of the paint coating is measured and any cavities and splinters are replenished. This is aided by abrasive pastes as well as those that smooth the paint and polishing the car body. The effects of this stage are particularly impressive, but it is to be expected that it will take much more time than in other circumstances. It often needs to be repeated many times for the final effect to be satisfactory. If we want to protect the paint, we can use a wide range of specialist products. These can be not only synthetic waxes, but also ceramic products and those based on natural ingredients. The customer's voice is always decisive here.

Protection of other external vehicle components

The customer may also decide to additionally protect other elements of the car, such as lamps, headlights and slats. However, it is not only the outer part of the car that should be corrected.

Internal cleaning

It is equally important to clean the interior, especially since it is often done without the required care. This stage includes, inter alia, cleaning of the air intake grille, seat and belt anchorages, safety grips and sun visors.
