Lacquer clay - get your car on the road

Not always thorough car washing and waxing leaves the effect we wanted. For some time now, we have been hearing about lacquer clay, which completes the process of caring for our baby on four wheels. What is it about claying and how to do it correctly?

The paint on our car is subjected to many harmful factors every day. If we do not take care of it properly, it will become rough over time, and the effect it did when we bought a car will disappear irretrievably. It is therefore worth betting on claying the lacquer, which works well in places where ordinary washing cannot be done.

What's a lacquer clay job?

Sunday afternoon - did you wash your car thoroughly for a couple of good hours, satisfied with the effects you touch the paint and feel that it is not perfectly smooth? We know it! Car washing will not remove all fine dirt attached to the paint, such as brake dust particles or soot. The solution here is clay, which resembles plasticine, which makes the lacquer smooth and the dirt attaches worse to the slippery body.

First of all, lacquer claying increases the effect of other "care treatments" of your car. If you're considering waxing and polishing, you should definitely think about clay first.

What does proper clay coating look like?

Paint claying is not a complicated process, but you have to remember a few things to make sure that everything goes smoothly and the effects go into the armchair.

  1. The first step is to thoroughly wash and dry your car.
  1. Then we should have a lubricant that ensures proper slippage and increases the safety of the whole process.
  1. We rip off a piece of clay and form a flattened ball out of it.
  1. The next step is to rub the clay of the highlighted car body segments using a lubricant.
  1. During claying, make sure that we have not missed a spot and that the paint is smooth.
  1. Finally, we wipe the car with a special cloth.

It is recommended that you carry out claying of car paintwork at least twice a year.

What should be kept in mind when claying lacquer?

Clay works best when exposed to temperature, but when not in use, it should be kept in a closed, cool room. First of all, you have to remember that if a clay falls to the ground, it is no longer usable. Any impurities found on it, such as a small pebble we haven't noticed, can scratch the body. In such cases it is advisable to divide the clay into smaller pieces.

Dirt that is created when claying the paint can be rinsed off in warm water, dented in or the best solution is to tear off a new piece.

If we want to see the results of our car body care work, we should not overlook this important step. Claying gives really great results and increases the effectiveness of other treatments. It is worth to get acquainted with this specificity and say goodbye to the rough surface of the paint.
