Cheap or expensive summer windscreen washer fluid - which one to choose?

A replenished washer fluid reservoir is essential. However, it is important to use a good fluid that will fulfil its purpose. As it turns out, this is not such a simple task. Heavy conditions on the road, rainfall, tree juices, bird droppings. All this can make it difficult for us to drive, the visibility will become incomplete.

When we go under the sun, dirty windscreens can make it difficult for us to control the situation on the road. Then you can't do without windscreen washer fluid, which should never be missing in your car. The clean windscreen gives you a much better view and thus a higher level of driving comfort. Sometimes without realizing the consequences, we choose the cheapest windscreen washer fluids, which have less surfactants and are responsible for the effectiveness. Most often they also contain harmful substances for health, and can also damage the varnish or wipers. Liquids of cheap and unknown brands, which smell of water, cannot cope with insects or bird droppings. Such fluids will wear the windscreen wipers much faster and will also have a negative effect on the paint.

It turns out that our compatriots are increasingly conscious consumers. Before a food product reaches the basket, we study labels. However, do we check the composition of operating fluids? We don't rather do it, and it's worth knowing what's in their line-up. In windscreen washer fluids such a harmful preparation is, among others, methanol. The sale of such liquids is prohibited in Poland. Theoretically, they cope well with glass cleaning, but if used longer, it can have a negative impact on health. Let's remember to avoid them, all the more so that some stores still sell them.

By buying more expensive, you save

Buying a more expensive liquid of a well-known brand actually saves you money. These are efficient preparations, so you don't have to stop frequently to replenish the tank. Most often it is enough to spray the glass gently and a few moves will allow you to clean it. An important feature of more expensive liquids will be that in addition to water, alcohol and detergents that wash away dirt from windows and reflectors, they also contain liquids that slow down the evaporation of alcohol, block nozzles or remove the problem of freezing the liquid on the glass. They are strong, but will not damage the surface of the paint, which is also important. The argument for buying them is also that we have proposals with different fragrances.

What brands are worth choosing?

Among these good suggestions at the right level, there are a few good products. Among other things, it will be Sonax liquid, which thoroughly cleans windows and reflectors, removes soot, insects and greasy dirt, which may limit visibility. It is a safe product for health. The K2 liquid will also be of good quality, but it is quite strongly perfumed. It is also worth taking an interest in My Auto, which prepares a special concentrate of windscreen washer fluid, but also Venol fluid. A good product is also Orlen with its anti-reflective liquid.
